“Séjour très agréable”
The hosts are genuinely kind! The welcome was just perfect: breakfasts are very varied, delicious, and different every day. The location is great, 10 minutes on foot from the Hiriketiya beach.

This is my fifth visit to Sri Lanka and I’m somewhat disappointed. I chose this place because of positive reviews about its cleanliness. Unfortunately, only the middle is cleaned. The floor in the room is only roughly swept and not even washed. The linens were changed because I saw them being changed, but the smell and appearance were odd. The bathroom isn’t washed, just rinsed with a hose, and there were even hairs from the previous guest. Mold is already visible on the walls, which looks unpleasant and unhealthy. The room has only a table and a towel rack, no place to hang or store items, and no water glasses. The equipment is very minimal. On the terrace, it would be nice if the chairs were wiped wet at least once a week. The tablecloths, which should also be wiped after meals and during night visits by monkeys and other creatures, are not cleaned. Around the area, it’s not tidy either; trash is scattered. The breakfast is typically Sri Lankan and I must admit it’s very tasty, but you have to ask for tea or coffee because the owner doesn’t provide drinks. There is no water, and you have to ask specifically for sugar. These may be small details, but as I mentioned earlier, this is not my first time on the island but the first with such an approach to guests. Finally, a small detail: the owner also doesn’t issue receipts; you have to agree. The photos on Google Maps are problematic here.

Breakfast, A/C, fast internet suitable for work calls, and helpful hosts. The bathroom could use a little love.

Beautiful homestay with a lovely peaceful garden, just a 5‑minute walk from the main road. The rooms are spacious and the owners are very dedicated. It’s a bit pricey for what you get, but that seems to be Hiriketiya nowadays.

Spacious room with a very large bed, fan, and AC. Hot water and good internet. The owners are very friendly and help you organize the rest of your trip—don’t hesitate to ask them. Breakfast is very generous and local. The location is perfect for combining tranquility and rest while still enjoying life in Hiriketiya, 5 minutes on foot from the center and 10‑15 minutes from the beach. I recommend this guesthouse.
