“Lovely host and location”
Betty, the host, is lovely and responds quickly to inquiries. The exterior of the gîte is charming stone, and the main part stayed cool even when it was hot outside. The beds were quite comfortable. It is quiet and mostly tranquil, depending on the other guests in the main house. Valensole is a good spot to see the lavender fields and about 30 minutes to Moustier‑Saint‑Marie and Gorge Verdon, both of which are beautiful. The interior of the gîte, while cute, does not match the age of the house and feels quite cramped for four adults—better suited for two adults and two young kids. There is a generous shower and sink between the two bedrooms, with a toilet in a separate room. The furniture was uncomfortable; the dining room chairs had rickety backs, and the living room chairs were low with edges that dug into the backs of your legs.
