The place sits right in the middle of Portree, so the town centre, restaurants, shops and everything else are just a short walk away. But the accommodation itself was a nightmare: the bathroom was covered in black mould all over the window and other spots, the radiator didn’t work so our clothes and towels stayed damp in the cold and rainy weather, the external doors wouldn’t lock so we couldn’t keep our stuff safe, and the shower drain was so clogged that we had to pull out hair and debris ourselves before we could use it. We reported all of this, got an initial reply, but then the hosts became increasingly unresponsive. For the price we paid, the level of cleanliness, maintenance and security was far below what we expected.

The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, and everything we expected was there; the shower was nice and the hotel was very close to the centre of Portree, but the towels were very small and the private bathroom was shared with several other rooms, so it didn't feel very private.
