Lovely location, easy to find and parking outside. The story of the house is a special one

Perfect place for what we needed, and nothing was wrong.

The location is great and the building has a nice historical feel. Nobody had any complaints and the staff were very helpful.

Nothing was worth liking. A code was given for a key box, but when opened there was no key; a neighbour who was looking after a dog on the property gave us access. Inside, a musty dog smell filled the room, which was dusty and generally worn out. The duvet covers were old and discoloured, and the bathroom was filthy; the toilet had been used, with dirty soiled tissue left unflushed and stool still in the bowl. Looking around, we saw even more health concerns. We could not sleep in the beds or use the bathroom. The back entrance we were told to use was a pile of rubbish, and the backdoor was left open, even though the owners were not on site—security was a serious issue. The owner was reassuring on booking and gave us a contact number for any problems, but we were disappointed enough that we had to find another place to stay that night, not knowing the area. We luckily found a really nice place elsewhere. I would never recommend the Bakehouse to anyone.
