You can't beat the location in Budapest - everything is right on your doorstep
The room was a letdown - it was tiny, old, and super uncomfortable, with a toilet room that reeked
It's a total steal - I'd definitely recommend it

The spot is extraordinary: a quiet lane behind the square with Metro 1 stop, in the heart of the city, 15 minutes on foot from the Danube, 5 minutes by public transport; the hotel caters to business travelers, so it’s clean and efficient with a gym, luggage storage, a shower in the fitness area after checkout, and other extras; the staff were super competent and helped with train tickets and booking a non‑tourist excursion; the building is nice but a bit stiff, almost like everywhere in Budapest. Unfortunately outside the “mediterranean basin” there are no blinds or curtains, nor bidets; it’s a pity – in 2026 an international clientele would at least deserve a shower next to the toilet, and a blackout curtain that reaches the floor would have been better; it was heavy but didn’t cover fully.
“Ubicación ideal”
The location is ideal and the value for money is good, yet when we arrived with two water bottles, one ran out and they never refilled them; with the heat that would have been a nice touch, and the breakfast option is a bit pricey if you only need coffee, juice and a pastry.

An evening staff member was cheerful, helpful, and had a big smile; her English was excellent, though I never caught her name. I didn’t like having to fill my bottles in the bathroom—water was drinkable but not tasty, and I’d have preferred a kitchen or reception spot where I wouldn’t have to pay.
The staff were friendly and excellent, helping with everything possible, but the room was cramped and not wheelchair‑accessible, the shower was inaccessible, and one bed was in the hallway so one of us had to sleep on the floor.
The location is beautiful, but it’s a shame nobody speaks even a little French.
