How guests rate the property, aspect by aspect.
Spacious apartment with an excellently equipped kitchen in a very nice location. The building houses two apartments; we rented the upper one and enjoyed a lovely view of sea and mountains. The staff were very friendly, breakfast was excellent. After breakfast we also visited the small, interestingly designed museum for free. We would choose this hotel again if we’re nearby.

We arrived later in the evening and that was no issue. Friendly staff greeted us, answered our questions, and checked us in smoothly. Our room was very spacious with plenty of hooks and hangers. The bathroom was also roomy and came fully equipped, including a powerful shower. Dinner at the hotel was amazing – pricey, but that’s the Icelandic trend. Breakfast offered many options, which was a relief since most places we’d seen in the booking didn’t provide this. Overall, we had a great night and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place near Jokulsarlon. The coffee mugs in the communal area weren’t refilled from the night before, so we couldn’t have tea/coffee in our room in the morning.

The hotel has a motel-style setup with small buildings right by the beach. Tasteful IKEA décor, good beds, and a roomy bathroom. Nice food at the restaurant. Very businesslike, quick service and quick departure. The hotel hosts a museum dedicated to an Icelandic writer, his family history, and thus Iceland’s history. Interesting. Nothing else. Good hotel.

The room was spotless and right next to the sights we planned to see, and the view was great. However, sound insulation was poor—people outside were very loud. Also, with no gas stations or convenience stores nearby, there was no vending machine or other option to buy bottled water; we could only use the bathroom sink, which felt unclean.
