“Nice hotel but breakfast was a total ripoff”
I stayed at a cute boutique hotel with fish‑themed décor that I really liked. The location isn’t right on the beach, but a short walk was fine for the price. The breakfast, however, was a total ripoff: I paid $30 a day for it, yet was sent to a restaurant behind the hotel where the menu suggested I could have eaten for under $20. They gave us a limited Tryp menu, and when I ordered oatmeal with a small side of cinnamon apple I still had to pay extra for the apples. $30 for oatmeal plus extra charges for a few pieces of fruit is absolutely outrageous. On Sunday we weren’t even seated in the restaurant but in a shack next to it, treated like second‑class customers while I paid more than many walk‑in diners. Don’t send guests to a separate restaurant if you’re charging for breakfast in the hotel.
