“Historic hotel but disappointing”

We had to stay in an adjacent building and drag our own luggage; the staff seemed clueless about the area, the dining room was closed, breakfast didn't start until 9, and parking was pricey.

“Live and learn, but do not go to Hotel Ella in Austin, TX. Not worth the money.”

The old mansion had a nice look, but every part of the stay—front desk, valet parking, restaurant—was short‑staffed and slow; the AC was set to at least 60 degrees, leaving us freezing, and the staff claimed they liked the cold; the huge pillows were uncomfortable, causing neck and back pain for both me and my husband; the room was expensive and not worth it, so I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

“Will be back, and park elsewhere!”

The heritage was amazing, and the valet parking was very handy, polite, and professional, but it felt like daylight robbery.
