“Closed hotel, no refund”
The area's got some potential, but our experience was pretty disappointing. We showed up to check in, only to find out the hotel was closed - yeah, you read that right, closed. We still haven't gotten a refund, which is frustrating.
“Parking win, food fail”
The parking was a nice surprise - it's right by the front door, which is more than I can say for a lot of hotels these days. But, the hotel and the village seemed to be in a food desert, which was a problem for me since I was there to run a marathon and was hoping for at least a slice of toast. I had to get creative and borrow a spoon from another guest.
“Small room, limited options”
Room 4 had plenty of free parking, which was a relief, and the room itself was small but comfy. However, the food situation was pretty limited - no breakfast, no evening meals, and the central tea point was the only place to make a cuppa. And, the room was a bit cramped, with no space for a table and chair.
“Locked out”
Great location, but that's about where the positives end. When we arrived, we couldn't even get into the hotel because it was locked and in the dark - no way to check in.
“Bit of a mess”
Not exactly the best start to a stay - the handbasin was blocked and the light switch wasn't working right.
