I liked the spot—easy to get in and out on my own—though it’s a bit noisy from the fish market next door and the bathroom floor has no drain, so it stays wet throughout the stay.

The location was fine, but the hygiene was almost unclean: spiders, dust, rotting wood, leftover rebar from the foundation, and cobwebs filled the room, plus a strong cat urine smell. I wouldn’t cook or store anything in the shared kitchen, even if it’s packaged. After a month of traveling across Ecuador in hotels, hostels, and homes ranging from $25–$40, this was by far the worst place, with a huge difference. I think they should review such properties, given repeated similar comments, and remove them from their listings; what we read seemed exaggerated, but it was far from reality.

Everything was okay.

The staff member who attended us was very friendly, but the noise from other guests at night was too loud, preventing us from sleeping, and the fans were also excessively noisy.
