The room was spacious and well‑equipped, and the mattress was comfortable. We got a discount at the hotel bistro and enjoyed a nice steak with vegetables. The only issue was the small balcony, which was dirty and full of bird droppings, even on the window.

The location in the centre of St Helens was excellent, just a short walk from breweries and restaurants. The room was well equipped and offered a stunning view of the bay.

The stay was good; the hotel was convenient and our room was a decent size. However, the room, though spacious, was dated and clearly needed a fresh coat of paint. The bathroom looked recently updated and was good. We ate in the dining room, and the meal was only average. The hotel could benefit from using local fishermen’s fresh seafood instead of the frozen seafood that the chef deep‑fried.
