The staff were very accommodating, quick to respond and help with any issues, but I couldn't sleep at all.

On the first night I stayed above the Manager, who checked me in late and made the bed look broken— the bottom bunk had fallen off and was patched with a pole. I took a nice walk down the beach with another backpacker; it was beautiful but very busy, and there were no car rentals available at several spots. The next day a resident backpacker, who called himself a reformed Jew, offered me a ride back into town. I missed my bus and was sent back to the same spot because the guy was “too tired” to do anything else. The Manager initially refused to let me stay, fearing he’d lose his job even though a bed was available, and wouldn’t even let me sleep on the couch or in the guy’s car where my things and passport were. Eventually he was convinced I would pay the next day, and then kept trying to hug, touch, and kiss me while claiming he was “protecting” me from the guy. I was more scared of roaming the streets without my passport. The owner finally answered my voicemail the next day and then accused me of “giving stories” when I explained why I was leaving with the same guy who had all my stuff. He said he’d cover my stay, not because of the ordeal, but because he didn’t want to deal with me. I’m ready to upload our full WhatsApp correspondence if needed. The place was extremely filthy— I’m certain it didn’t meet any regulations or fire code, with people smoking indoors, rooms built on top of and through other rooms (no fire exits), and a lot of cockroaches, bugs, and all kinds of pests. Don’t stay here!

The Owner Jason was very accommodating and went the extra mile to make sure I was happy, and the staff and some of the other guests I met were also very friendly.
