“C’è da lavorare per migliorare…”
I want to thank the staff for letting us have the room well before 15:00, even though we didn’t need it – we just wanted to leave our luggage so we could explore the city until the room was ready. The gentleman at reception insisted on finding a ready room for us, which we appreciated after the trip. The hotel is very close to the castle and therefore to the center, easily reachable from the train station. Unfortunately, there are several disappointing aspects, especially for a 4‑star hotel. I expect better quality and service when paying a price that should reflect certain standards. The most obvious problem was the bathroom: every shower flooded the floor, apparently due to a water containment issue or a poorly installed curtain. There was also a lot of limescale throughout the shower, a yellowed curtain, a shower hose with a black mold‑like stain, and a rusted handle for the curtain. We didn’t understand why the bathroom door couldn’t be closed from inside – the latch was basically reversed. That’s not what you expect in a 4‑star. In the room we also noticed several details indicating poor maintenance: damaged outlet plates, dusty walls with marks, a door with dents and missing wood pieces. The hallway carpet was terrible and clearly needed deep cleaning – it would only need proper washing to look different. Another thing that puzzled us was the room itself: it did not resemble the photo in the confirmation email at all. While rooms can differ, the difference was significant and we felt somewhat misled by the images, or perhaps it was just a generic photo. Even the breakfast, praised in descriptions, was not exceptional to me. It was good, but nothing that made me think it was superior to what you’d expect in a hotel of this category.

The breakfast was excellent. The location is very convenient in the center. The staff is efficient and very helpful. If I were to offer a critique, I would suggest the property replace the carpet on the stairs and in the room corridors – it’s worn and stained, which clashes with the otherwise high‑quality furnishings and finishes.

The staff is attentive and helpful, the rooms are very beautiful and clean. The breakfast is excellent, abundant, and very good. The location is great, right next to the center, with on‑site parking (upon request) and the option to charge electric cars. Highly recommended. I found nothing negative.
