“extremely disappointing room, Not value for monay”
Breakfast was just average, nothing special, but the steak and ale pie at dinner was exceptional—never had one as good elsewhere. The room was advertised with free toiletries, a desk, seating area, and ironing facilities, yet none of these were present. There was not even a single chair or dressing table, and the carpet was threadbare. Noise from heavy wagons passing by started at 5 am, making it very noisy. Overall, it was very disappointing; I paid £134 and would definitely not stay again.
“Excellent service, great food and atmosphere.”
The building and decor were beautiful, preserved as they probably were years ago. Our superiors room was fabulous. Nothing else to add.
“Excellent”
Very friendly, kind and genuine. Good food, good service, good atmosphere. Nothing
“Ok but could be better”
Breakfast was good, and the location was excellent. Dinner was fine, though the bread and butter pudding was disappointing because it turned out to be a cold version instead of the usual hot one. The menu description of that pudding was misleading. The “car park” was chaotic, not just for hotel guests. The receptionist did her best to resolve the issue, with help from the chef.
“Nice dog friendly hotel in lovely village”
The staff were friendly, the food was nice, and the room was lovely. They accommodated a dog for a £10 fee and kept the room very clean and pleasant. It took a while to get a reply about the dog, but we didn’t need to worry after that. The bed felt a bit soft for my husband—he seemed to roll downhill. I couldn’t get onto the car park but managed to park on the road.
