The place is close to the market and the beach, but it’s also pricey, and there’s no elevator.

“Enttäuschend”

We’ve stayed at Gloria Grand multiple times and were always satisfied. A long time ago we couldn’t book because it was reserved for Russian guests, so we were excited when that changed. But what happened to the hotel? There was zero service, no breakfast, and a bored young man showed us the room. It was clean and comfortable, yet we specifically asked for a room on the back side, and we were told it was noted. When we asked why we’d have to stay on the main street, we were told the hotel was fully booked—a smooth lie. Only one other room was occupied. Why lie to us? The balcony in that room couldn’t be used during the day because the sun hit it directly. It was a shame. We were very disappointed and won’t book this hotel again because of the lack of service.

“Could be better”

The location is great, the hotel was empty and quiet, and we had a third‑floor room with a balcony and street view. A tap outside lets you rinse sand off, which is handy, and having a kettle and fridge was a bonus. Restaurants and cafés are nearby, and the beach is just a 5‑minute walk away. On the second morning the hot water was off, the balcony table was very old, the jacuzzi didn’t work, and the elevator was out of order (and looks like it’s been that way for a while). On the third day the air conditioner stopped cooling, the pillows had mold and were unpleasant to sleep on, and the hairdryer needed replacement. The hotel really needs renovation and new furniture.

The location is convenient, but the staff were slow and didn’t want to accept card payments right away, so I had to insist.
