Nothing pleased me at all; first thing, I arrived at the airport at dawn and the driver supposed to bring me to the hotel never showed up, so I took a taxi, and the hotel manager told me to wait, and after more than an hour he said I couldn’t enter now and would have to wait until the next day, then he took me to a place that looked like a pigeon cage, and the next day I called the owner and told him I couldn’t stay in that cage longer than a day, he said come at 13:00 to my accommodation, so my family and I went and were surprised he gave us another apartment instead of the one I booked, a smaller and cheaper one, the electricity was off for two whole days, there was no cleaning service, the TV didn’t work the whole stay, the linens weren’t changed, there were no bathroom tissues, the furniture was very worn, the hotel location was extremely annoying, and I swear I wouldn’t recommend it at all, don’t waste your money here.

The staff were very friendly and made us feel at home, everything was available and it was fantastic, but there were mosquitoes, so bring insecticide.

The location is good, close to the Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar, but it was very dirty; first, upon arrival we weren’t checked into our balcony room, which I had specifically chosen with separate bedrooms, the room I paid for was called “super luxury” but apparently that’s just a name, the manager said the room was undergoing cosmetic repairs and under various pretexts didn’t want to show me the room I paid for, offered another without a balcony and with one bedroom with two beds, we were put in that room and the next day they promised to move us to our room, but the next morning I saw water dripping from the ceiling on the stairs, maybe our room had been flooded by rain? I don’t know, the manager didn’t admit it and offered another room at Bona Hotel next to Bona Cafe Restaurant, that room had separate rooms, large beds, no balcony, and was incredibly dirty as it turned out; I told the manager about the dirty room, he promised a cleaner would come but nobody did, for 10 days we never had towels or bed linens changed, no soap or toiletries replenished, the floor was dirty, there were layers of dust under the beds, a dried lemon and a condom packet, dust on the bedhead, very very bad; overall the rooms didn’t match the photos, everything was worn, the linens were washed but had dirty stains, the velvet pillows were also stained with leaks, on the last night before departure the hotel lost power and the whole street was dark, so we had to pack in the dark, there was no hot water because the boiler didn’t work, we could only charge our phone downstairs at the cafe, in short it’s disgusting, be careful with reviews.

“! ACHTUNG ! an alle allein reisenden Frauen!!”

Attention all solo female travelers! Don’t book this place. The staff/host Ergun behaved in a harassing manner toward me; I’m female, 24, writing this from my boyfriend’s account. We booked together, but I arrived alone and was greeted by Ergun. While we waited for my boyfriend, he repeatedly made inappropriate remarks about my appearance, why I didn’t come alone, that we would “have so much fun together,” that it was never too late to change my boyfriend, that I could come to Istanbul alone and fall in love with him, etc. He also kissed my hand several times, tried to hold it, and touched my waist. Despite clear signals that this was unwanted, he didn’t stop. Only when my boyfriend arrived did he cease. After we left, Ergun contacted me again with inappropriate messages, ignoring my explicit request to stop contacting me. I felt uncomfortable and unsafe the whole time, but was comforted by my boyfriend’s imminent arrival. I don’t want to speculate on what could have happened if I had been alone. So to all solo female travelers: DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE!

Location brilliant staff very helpful especially Ergan who organised taxi transfer from SAW airport at night and taxi at 6.0 in morning when other failed to arrive to return to SAW airport so helpful 😀
