I would not recommend staying at this hotel. I wasn’t expecting luxury, but I did expect a basic level of cleanliness. My room absolutely stank of stale cigarette smoke and damp. The smell was so bad that I couldn’t sleep. I tried to call reception, but the phone in the room didn’t work, so I had to go downstairs. The only solution I was offered was a bottle of air freshener, which obviously didn’t solve the issue. The room itself was also in very poor condition, with furniture coming away from the walls and generally feeling like it was falling apart. I can overlook a hotel being dated or basic,, but this was well below an acceptable standard. Overall, a very unpleasant stay and I would not stay here again

Quiet and comfortable bed and spotless, but I had to carry a heavy harp up two flights of stairs.

I had no positives to mention, everything was a disappointment.

The staff were great and the bed was pretty comfy, and I stayed in a back room that stayed quiet with no noise from the town; the breakfast and dinner were well cooked and tasty, but the hotel feels a bit old and tired.
