“Wish we had spent more than one night.”
The setting was beautiful and the property was immaculate, but the shower was hard to get in and out of.

Breakfast was great—tasty, with many selections and plenty of food! The grounds are beautiful, although we only stayed one night, so we didn’t get to appreciate them fully. Train whistles at 11 pm, 4 am, etc. caught us a little off guard.

Janice greeted us warmly, helped us settle in, and even cooked breakfast for us—she’s sweet and kind, and everything else was great.

Wonderful people and a beautiful house.

Breakfast was very good with plenty of food, and the weekend cook set up our table and food like we were royalty; the fenced pond had two swans named Romeo and Juliette who follow you around and are nice to look at, but they’re territorial and will try to peck your shoes or hands, so keep a distance; the house is beautiful and historical, and the staff are amazing and very accommodating; however, the listing says possible events could happen on weekends, yet we were surprised to see a full parking lot and about 100 other people at a wedding and reception, feeling very out of place as we arrived with pillows, blankets, and luggage to hand over to our room—our room was right next to the commotion, with both windows overlooking the party, and blasting music stopped around 10 pm, so a better heads up would have helped; also the listing didn’t mention the noise from trains that passed throughout the night and day, which I counted about 5 times, so it may not be the place for you if you’re looking for a quiet stay; the king‑size bed was a little too hard for our touch, but you might not think so.
