The reception and tranquility were great, and the kitchen and wine were superb.

Nestled in historic Fontanes, Domaine de L’Isle Basse offers a spa‑centered retreat with a panoramic pool, sauna, sun terrace and garden. Guest rooms feature private baths, garden views, tea/coffee makers, hairdryers and free toiletries, with family and interconnected options. The on‑site restaurant blends French, Italian, Mediterranean and Belgian flavors in a modern‑traditional setting.

Quiet, clean, fully equipped, and the service was attentive and thorough.

The room did not match the photos, had no TV, and the window couldn’t be opened. The listing mentioned our small dog, yet it was stated that pets were accepted; they wanted lower‑quality sheets to avoid the dog getting dirty (our dog never climbs onto the beds). With the pet surcharge we would have received discounted sheets. The spa was unprotected, so unusable when it wasn’t sunny, and they never mentioned this (the spa was a key criterion for us). We stayed only five minutes in the lobby because the reception was terrible. Given the bad weather, nothing was offered while we waited for our room (nothing nearby). No commercial gesture or partial refund. We never even settled in. The environment was nice but the price was far too high for such a small room with no amenities.

The setting was wonderful and the two hosts were excellent, welcoming you into their home as if you were old friends. Thanks to Bart & Christophe for a lovely and memorable evening.

Nice beds and a very good breakfast, but there was no TV in the room.
