The spot was perfect for our needs and just a 5‑minute walk from the train station. I really enjoyed my first visit, seeing some great sights in Penrith and enjoying some excellent cask‑ale pubs.

The hotel was freshly opened, so everything felt nice, but the bed was small and the room itself was cramped.

“New ownership and improvements - nice place to stay”

The new owner is putting a lot of effort into improving the bar and other hotel features; the bar was welcoming, had sports on TV, and offered several relaxing spots if you didn’t want to watch. Renovations were still in progress, and some of our group received nicer rooms than others, but that was still acceptable.

“Get what you pay for. if your looking for a generic hotel experiance this isnt it. would stay again”

Friendly staff including the owner. Undergoing re decoration so thats good. comfortable room with on suite all very clean. Central location if thats important less than 5 minutes walk to centre and a range of eating places. Shower on mixer tap had 0 hot water so had to take a bath instead. Not really a fan of sitting in baths so thats obviously a preverence thing never the less i would of been looking else were for the shower option. Bottom door had no safety latch thing on it so every morning at 5am someone left and slammed the door and woke me up twice
