A quirky, one‑of‑a‑kind spot that blends old‑school Japan vibes with the most bizarre robot you’ll ever see; the staff were relaxed yet super attentive, handling my mom’s food allergies with great care. The area is beautiful, perfect for a true wabi‑sabi vibe, but the bath had ongoing problems that affected everyone, so they offered us a private bath instead, which we really appreciated.

The mountain location is nice and the traditional breakfast and dinners are good, but the villa we stayed in was not very clean—dead bugs on the upstairs carpet, spider webs in the shower, and dirt in the kitchen sink. The bathroom was very musty, overall everything felt outdated, and the private onsen was also very musty.
