It’s only a 15‑minute drive from downtown Lansing, yet the place feels very quiet and remote. If you enjoy thrifting, be sure to check out the Mega Mall down the road. Breakfast was free but only average, and none of the vending machines worked; it would have been nice to have a spot for small conveniences or snacks since I didn’t arrive until midnight.

When I checked in, the front‑desk staff was a bit rude because I couldn’t understand him even after I asked a couple of times. I didn’t eat breakfast, but I did have a cup of coffee.

It seems Best Western’s quality varies across locations. We stayed at the one in Okemos, Mich., and it was superb, but Dewitt was unclean and the building and property were poorly maintained. This inconsistency will affect my future choices for Best Western because you never know what you’ll get.
