“Een verborgen parel in de bergen rond Istán”

At arrival we received a warm Spanish welcome from the house lady; Los Jarales sits on a mountain with a stunning view, and after our excursions the pool offered a welcome cool down. The breakfast was basic, the host brought the plates to the table, but we were never hungry; for a second cup of coffee you have to pay an extra €1.20, which felt a bit odd, but overall the price/quality of this stay is more than fair. Los Jarales is on a mountain, and the road to it can be a deterrent for some, especially the very steep driveway!

“Outstanding - really lovely, friendly & unpretentious hotel in a beautiful location”

It was truly magical: the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in, quirky and with the most amazing mountain views from our room. We enjoyed the great pool in the evening, the staff were lovely, and we fell asleep to the hooting of an eagle owl.

The location is perfect, close to Marbella, yet very quiet; the tranquility, the views, and the surroundings wrapped in mountains are all remarkable.
