The staff were incredibly friendly, and I appreciated that I didn’t have to bring towels to the large bath. The only downside was that the bath felt a bit cramped, especially when it was full; I wonder if it gets crowded at peak times.

The service was very welcoming, the rooms were spacious enough, and the onsen was well maintained. Breakfast from the restaurant offered a lovely view of the lake. However, a busy road runs right in front of the hotel, and the room had a noticeable stale smell since we stayed in the older part of the building. The breakfast was fine, but dinner was rather average. The staff were friendly but spoke very little English; we had to rely on a translation app to get everything sorted.

The view faced Lake Shichikodō directly, so the scenery was great, and the ice after the bath was excellent. Because it was a one‑week trip, I wished there were laundry facilities on site; there was one nearby, but I still wanted it inside the hotel.

The location was great with Lake Shichido in front of us and it was very nice 😊 The food was also tasty! When we arrived, a staff member took our luggage, but I wondered if they would bring it to the room, and to my surprise it was left right there in the lobby!

It was new and clean. The amenities were also well stocked. I was charged an extra fee for the hot spring even though I hadn’t used it and there was no confirmation.
