We had a good experience, but the hotel was a bit far from our target location, SRM University Kattankulathur, where we were there to enroll our son in BTech engineering. Breakfast was offered in the room, it was economical and served in the room. All services and location were good, just need to supervise the staff for better cleaning services in the room.

The reception staff was good. However, the television didn't work, there was no WIFI, there was too much noise, daily cleaning was not happening – in four days only two cleanings occurred despite being forcefully informed. The food in the restaurant was not good.

We checked into this hotel on Diwali morning to freshen up and visit a nearby temple, but things didn't go smoothly. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfy, but when we complained about the lack of hot water, it took them 45 minutes to fix it - precious time lost on a special morning.

This place had some major issues - cleanliness was a problem, there was a clear shortage of staff, and the restaurant wasn't even available.

Staying at Grand Padappai Residency was a letdown, especially after coming from a friendly and welcoming experience in New Delhi. The area and rooms felt deserted, and the staff didn't seem responsive - I was overcharged 301 rupees for some amenities I didn't use, and when I tried to sort it out, the bartender wasn't helpful. I had to end up paying it anyway, which felt pretty pathetic. Overall, it was a bad experience in Chennai, and I wouldn't recommend it.
