“Normal”
Gessica greeted us late, quickly showed us the facilities, and made us feel at home. The house is traditional, heavily decorated and not very modern, like a grandmother’s house. The family lives downstairs, so any issue can be handled easily. We had large rooms, big comfortable beds, and everything was clean. She left enough towels and a candy for each of us. The location is ideal, about 15 minutes from Lucca. The entrance is unpaved, on a narrow winding road that could trouble a large car (our Fiat Pandino got in fine, and she warned us). What we didn’t like was that we weren’t told the house would be entered while we were away for cleaning. We understand that, for a 2‑night stay, cleaning could happen after we left or at least we could be notified. The same with the garbage: instead of telling us how to recycle (different countries have different customs and rules), she separated our trash herself.
