What struck me most was the local island vibe: simple, quiet, and very relaxed, exactly what I wanted. Max‑san was such a friendly and welcoming host, and then there’s Happy, the sweetest cat on the property, incredibly friendly and surprisingly calm—definitely one of the highlights of my stay. One of the coolest things is that Max‑san can play traditional instruments, and he usually opens the musical nights with guests who can also play, creating a warm and spontaneous atmosphere where everyone just gets together, plays music, and enjoys the evening. It really gives the place a special local charm you wouldn’t find at a typical hotel. The facilities are pretty decent for the price. The property itself is quite old, but I was pleasantly surprised by how clean everything was; there was absolutely no unpleasant smell at all, which I really appreciated. You can tell the place is well taken care of despite its age. Overall, it has a very simple and authentic local feel rather than being fancy or modern. If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful, clean, reasonably priced, and with a genuine island atmosphere, this is a lovely place to stay. And if you’re lucky, you might get to enjoy a little music night with Max‑san and the other guests too! The only small thing I’d mention is that an English version of the house introduction/instructions would be helpful, especially for my friend who doesn’t speak Japanese.
