“Превъзходно място”

The location was great, the apartment was very split up, with a foyer that had two doors – one leading to a large, comfortable bathroom, the other opening into a small cosy living room, and inside a large bedroom. What impressed us was the top mattress on the sofa, something not done in many places. The apartment was beautiful and clean. The food at the restaurant was also tasty, the soups were hot. The communication with the Russian‑speaking waitress was a bit difficult, but she tries and I think she will understand everything soon.

I’m giving this low score not because of the hotel itself—although the bathroom drain was clogged, the shower hose was broken, and the toilet basket wasn’t emptied for four days—but mainly because of the staff, especially the manager. On the last morning we greeted them with “good morning” and received no reply from anyone, not even the manager. We had to wait five minutes for them to make coffee before anyone asked what we wanted for breakfast, and then the manager remarked, “those who only come for breakfast, at least order coffee.” We were extremely disappointed by the manager’s attitude; it’s unacceptable for a manager to make disrespectful comments behind guests’ backs. As paying customers we have the right to choose which services to use and where to spend our money. If you want to dine in the restaurant, hire a waitress who speaks Bulgarian and make the menu or prices more attractive for a two‑star hotel. Instead of hospitality we encountered pettiness, unprofessionalism, and total neglect of guests.

“Spannend...”

The location was really nice and they even have some adorable pets on site. We booked one room for three people for a few nights, but nobody spoke English, so we had to handle everything over the phone while they kept trying to talk to us in Bulgarian even though they knew we didn’t understand. The room felt worn out, and everything seemed ready to break; the flush often didn’t work. On the first day I complained it was freezing because the heating was out and we had no hot water. After a lot of back‑and‑forth we were moved to another room, which at least fixed the hot‑water issue. We got a portable heater we could plug in, but all the sockets (just one!) were already taken. After showering the whole bathroom stayed wet with no drainage. Breakfast offered only four types of toast, two pieces each, and there was no fruit, muesli, or anything you’d expect; the only drinks were Ayran and tea, while coffee and other beverages cost extra, so there was nothing to look forward to in the morning.
