“Excelente”
The place is cozy and right in the middle of everything, which made getting around a breeze. Everything was really good, so I didn’t have any complaints.

The host greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome right away. The only downside was the lack of easy access—nothing we could do about the city’s hilly layout.

Staying at Sumé feels like being at home; the kitchen is fully stocked, the bathrooms stay spotless, and the beds even have curtains so you can actually sleep in the dorms. The staff are fantastic—always ready to help and happy to chat with guests. I’d definitely go back to São Thomé.

Breakfast was solid, and the volunteers running the hostel were all genuinely nice, while the host stayed attentive from check‑in to check‑out. On top of that, the hostel sits up on a hill with a great view right next to a local lookout. My only regret is that I had to leave way too early.

The building itself is pretty basic, but the people there make up for it with a warm, welcoming vibe.
