The location and the hotel complex were nice, and the manager and one of the reception ladies were very helpful and friendly, but almost everything else was problematic. After tearing a ligament, I asked for an upper‑floor room and was told it wasn’t possible, so I had to lug my luggage down many stairs, which was terrible for my foot. They only offered another room after I mentioned canceling the night because I couldn’t keep climbing. The bathroom had three uneven steps that got wet after showering, making it easy to slip with a sprained ankle, and it looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned properly in years. A gap near the pool let noises travel, and the room was full of spider webs and ants, the bathroom included. Being a wooden hut, it was very noisy and mosquitoes could get in, though there was a bed net. The pillowcases and sheet were stained, and the curtains were mouldy. If you like sleeping in, forget this place; a nearby school creates morning noise. The pool was beautiful but very cold, which suited my foot. The food was disappointing—my mie goreng was the worst I’ve had in Bali, the chicken was full of cartilage and bones, and breakfast was just two slices of toast and an omelette (or however you like your egg).
