Spa Hotel Ezeretz Blagoevgrad

I have been staying at this hotel for many years, and every year it seems to improve, especially the restaurant and its snacks, which are always perfect. However, the dinner prices are inflated, and the barbecue in the garden, where we grill the meat for the evening menu, is broken. The menu is missing a proper grill section, and the barbecue itself does not work—quite disappointing. We are forced to go outside to eat, which is inconvenient because there are almost no facilities nearby. The pools are often not in good condition, and the water in the outdoor pools is lukewarm. The rooms lack hygiene, the refrigerator is broken or in poor condition, and the dryer does not work. The staff are indifferent and react to everything, which is not the same as the hotel was two years ago. The wooden loungers from last summer were replaced with new ones, but a year ago they were in terrible condition, some were even broken, and the woven mats were ruined. We wanted to use the beach, but it was there, and twice we found out a wedding was planned around the pools, which raised the loungers and interfered with the wedding photos. The first visit this year was in March, and overall there are no loungers because the season had not started. What a season. The advertising images on the site need updating, and only weddings and events are promoted, which makes people think the hotel is a spa. In recent years, there have been weddings and other events that did not disturb guests’ use of the pools, but this time they tried to combine the events without respecting the guests’ comfort. It is a pity that such a beautiful place, which offers excellent quality, is currently in such a state.

The staff were responsive and courteous, and the rooms were wonderful; the atmosphere around the pool was amazing and breakfast was superb. On the downside, there wasn’t enough variety for lunch and dinner, and when events were organized the hotel didn’t think about how to serve guests or how to order dinner, so we had to look elsewhere. Also, the 10 % discount for food and drinks in the restaurant only applied to dinner, and no one mentioned that elsewhere (according to the waitress).

“Comfortable enough, but I would expect more for about 150 euro a night”

Breakfast was decent, but I wish there were more options—only one type of bread was offered. Overall, it was fine.

The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean, and the spa with mineral water was a nice touch. But after 10 pm a loud birthday party in the garden kept us up, and the hotel didn’t even warn us. On top of that, our family‑suite reservation was lost and we were bumped to a double room. All in all, a disappointing stay.
