The long‑term residents and staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. If you love chess, you’ll definitely find someone to play with—just go to Sam, not the American prodigy who can play blindfolded with a timer. The hostel is close enough to shops, nightlife, and the beach that you won’t need a car. Be kind and considerate if you’re Australian; backpackers come from all over the world. Show them the best of Aussie spirit and you might learn some cool new words. 🌊 ☀️

It’s a full‑of‑shit hotel, actually a hostel with a name that’s a joke. No refund, they took my money, and the reservation was cancelled. Nothing was good—this place is horrible.

It was cozy and not too many guests; everyone was friendly and it felt like a little community ☺️. Privacy for getting dressed and such wasn’t really enough.

The hostel was spotless, the staff were fantastic, I had a blast, and it's hands down the best hostel in Newcastle.
