The host was very friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was spotless with a great walk‑in shower, breakfast was continental but the host also offered cooked options, and having water in the room was a nice touch. The bed was very small and the mattress was uncomfortable, there was no extractor fan in the bathroom, the room felt a bit dark, and the bathroom light took a moment to turn on.

This place is actually Mr Chu's Chinese restaurant with rooms right next to it; the location is great and the staff are wonderful. The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of storage, and the shower and toiletries were fabulous. Continental breakfast was offered, and hot options were available, though the selection was limited. It’s close to Pocklington and York. The only downside was a draft from the gap under the door in room 5, which made it a bit chilly, but we managed to block it. There was no dedicated internet charging point in the room, so you’ll need to bring a plug and cable.

The owner and staff in the restaurant were extremely helpful, and we felt well looked after. The only issue was that the room lighting wasn’t bright enough.
