The location was very central. Communication was poor—almost no English. Rooms could only be paid for in cash. The fridge in the room was moldy. There were exposed wall sockets. The room next to the elevator was noisy and unusable. Privacy suffered because staff woke me multiple times asking when I would finally go to breakfast (I didn’t want to eat there). After two nights I left early and moved to another hotel.

The only thing we liked about this hotel was its location, right in the center near the square. From the moment we arrived, a moldy smell was noticeable at the reception. The reception was not open 24/7 as advertised. When we rang the bell, only two cleaning ladies answered, speaking only Russian. We waited about 20 minutes for a man who also didn’t speak English. The entire hotel was very dark and moldy, with a strong odor of mildew and stale air. The room was not soundproofed at all. The elevator was very loud, each ride sounding like someone drilling a wall. At night neighbors could be heard. The balcony couldn’t be fully closed, so cold air flowed into the room. We were only given light summer blankets, even though it was cold outside. There was no way to heat the room. The worst part was that one set of towels was wet and didn’t smell like fresh laundry, unlike the second set. It looked as if the towels had been used by previous guests. Overall, it felt messy.
