The place is in the centre. The hostel and room have an interesting design/interior. The owner, who checked us in, is decent and pleasant to talk to. The room has a conditioner, plasma TV, separate slippers, cups, a small fridge and a large table. I stayed alone for three nights in a single room with a separate bathroom. I checked in almost at the last minute because my original apartment was cancelled, so I was in a hurry and didn't ask many details, which I should have. When I chose a separate bathroom, I assumed there would also be a separate toilet, but there wasn't. There's only a shower cabin behind a wall, behind the bed. I had to go to the other end of the hostel to use the shared toilet both in the morning and at night. That's inconvenient. The toilet paper there is awful and the cheapest. I also thought there would be a microwave in the room, but it was in the shared kitchen at the other end of the hostel. Also, the pub on the ground floor on the first floor plays karaoke, singing, contests, and the noise sounds like it's in your room. The party goes on until 21:00/22:00, so if you like to go to bed early it won't work. The whole hostel is a big apartment, so if someone likes to come in at 0:00 or leave in the morning, it's all loud, especially when doors slam, people walk, etc. It was also unpleasant that the windows in the room cannot be opened for ventilation. On the third night, they only gave me one small, worn towel and nothing else. And then, on the morning of the day I was supposed to leave, the lights turned on abruptly and I went to wash my face, only to see a cockroach crawling down and hiding near the shower. Saying I was shocked is an understatement. The price for this separate shared room is, in my opinion, too high considering everything. 950 UAH per day. That was already a discount from Booking. Otherwise it would have been about 1000. I saw other options in the centre of Sumy for 1000/1100 UAH on Booking that had nice apartments, separate toilets, microwaves, no pub below and no strangers around. I would never stay here again.
