The inn sits right in the heart of Galle fort, perfect if you want a base while exploring. There are plenty of good restaurants and bars nearby, and the Inn is a budget-friendly option to stay at.

The location and staying in a colonial house were nice, with a fan and air conditioning. The room was too small, and the price felt high for what we got: poor maintenance (the heater didn’t work, many old rusty items with accumulated dirt), a very basic mattress and box spring that were uncomfortable, and the welcome tea that other places offered was missing.

The small hotel in the old town of Gōru has an old building and retro rooms, but it’s well maintained and comfortable to stay in. The common area has tea bags, so you can have tea anytime. No complaints.

The hotel sits right in the middle of Galle, just a few steps from all the sights and eateries, so if you know exactly what you want, it’s a solid choice. I never spotted any staff except when I checked in and out. The pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable, the towels were tiny and worn, and the neighbors woke up early at 5am and were sometimes noisy.
