I could book a small single room that was just as stylish as a luxury double at a good price for a work trip. The complimentary sherry, the ground coffee with a miniature cafetière, the quality of the breakfast, and the lovely friendly, helpful staff were all highlights. Nothing to complain about!

A lovely independent hotel – the room had characterful touches such as a Roberts radio, fresh coffee, and a good bathroom with Elemis products. It was far nicer than a corporate chain. The stylish lounge downstairs and the friendly staff added to the experience.

The location was good, the room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They granted my wish for a walk‑in shower instead of a bath. However, a couple of minor issues: the two apples and one kiwi in the fruit bowl were not fresh, so if fruit is offered it should be fairly fresh. The shower didn’t flow very well and seemed somewhat clogged. We also had high expectations for the Square restaurant, but the evening meal was mediocre and very expensive for what it was. Unfortunately, I probably won’t rush back here.

The area and location were good, but the rooms were too small, it was very noisy, and there was a poo outside.
