“Great location sub standard rooms and breakfast”
The bar room was a highlight, but the breakfast left a lot to be desired: the black pudding was cold and hard, sausage was tough, bacon was low quality, mushrooms were drenched in grease, and hash browns were overcooked in fat oil – all for £17, a price that feels like a fiver if you’re into grease, so I skipped it and got no refund 😳. The rooms were outdated, small, and the toilet and shower couldn’t be moved, yet the location was still great.
“Good base to have when exploring around Ambleside and beyond”
The location was excellent and checking in was smooth thanks to the friendly staff, and the bed in the room was comfortable. However, I had trouble locking the room door when I stepped out, and the bathroom felt a bit cramped, especially the shower, though it was only a minor issue.
“Great central location for the Lakes”
The central location is friendly and helpful, and the pub food is good. The building was surrounded by scaffolding, so I had to keep the curtains closed for privacy.
“We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff were all very nice. The root was clean but a bit quirky. We would stay there a”
The central location is convenient, but the room layout is not ideal.
“Just a little break away from the rat race and there’s no better place to come to relax”
I love staying at the Ambleside Inn – the staff are wonderful, the rooms are comfortable, and the town is perfect. There was nothing I didn’t like.
