Breakfast is extensive and neatly presented, the rooms are nice, and the staff are friendly – a real pleasure. Prices can vary a lot per night (both weekdays), otherwise we would have stayed 1 or 2 nights.

The place was spotless and well connected to the city centre, but the uncovered swimming pool was freezing and the bubbles didn’t work.

Room 1214 offered a fantastic view of the Amstel River, and the spa, with saunas and a small open‑air pool, was great. Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. The air‑conditioning in our room pointed at the bed, which isn’t common in the Netherlands, but with the mild weather it wasn’t a big deal.

The hotel was very clean, the staff were very friendly, and as French speakers we used limited English but they understood us and met all our requests. The room was fantastic. The only downside was that both the indoor and outdoor parking were paid. For a stay of one night or two days at €200, I think parking should be free for hotel guests.

The property sits in a great spot, not far from the city centre by public transport – it’s about a ten‑minute walk to the metro station and another 10‑15 minutes by train to downtown. Breakfast was huge, high‑quality and varied, leaving nothing to complain about, and the staff went about their duties without issue. I loved the range of facilities on offer, from the gym and hammam to the sauna, pool, bike rentals and parking. The only downside was that the parking, which appeared free on the booking site along with the wellness area and breakfast, actually cost €25 per day on arrival, a fee that wasn’t mentioned online; the breakfast fee was correctly listed. The pool is pleasant but very small, always less than 1.5 m deep and about 3 m wide, and although it’s an outdoor heated pool, its dimensions are limited.
