“Quiet, well-run stay in a beautiful setting”

We had a brief stay at Tembe and thoroughly enjoyed it. The setting is beautiful and tranquil, the staff friendly and helpful, and it feels like a genuine nature lodge rather than a busy resort. Everything was well organized and comfortable for the few days we were there, making it easy to unwind and explore. We’d gladly return and recommend it, especially thanks to Vusi for making the game drives memorable.

“Echtes Safari Feeling in bequemen Zelten”

The value for money is good: two game drives per day are included, the food is excellent, and the staff are very friendly. However, reaching the site is difficult for non‑4x4 vehicles, and the paths to the tents are poorly lit in places.

The site is pleasant with very good food, a large pool, and attentive staff. The Tembe bush is dense, making wildlife observation challenging, although we did spot a beautiful leopard up close in addition to the magnificent and unique tuskers.

“Nette Anlage in einem schönen Park - Personal war nicht sehr motiviert”

Although the property is located in a nature park, it is fenced off. The staff are mainly women who are friendly but not always competent. The sandy access road from the entrance gate to the reception and the spread‑out tents can only be driven by an SUV with caution. Management should strongly advise guests without 4x4 vehicles against driving into the property. Contrary to the phone assurance, it was impossible to park the car after the gate because there was no shuttle service. Signage, especially from the reception to the exit, is inadequate for inexperienced visitors; I lost my way during an exit and got stuck in the sand. It took several attempts before someone at the reception answered my mobile call and helped me. The routes to the remote tents are very difficult for guests with heavy luggage and mobility issues, and it should not be necessary for women to carry suitcases. Meals were not overwhelming due to the low visitor numbers; each guest had a designated table, with no communal tables. In the evenings there was a campfire, but there was no animation to encourage casual conversation among guests. The bar was closed at 21:00 and the fire was extinguished. Overall, the mainly female‑run management seemed demotivated.

I had a great stay with excellent facilities, friendly people, and amazing game drives, and there was essentially nothing negative.
