I came back after a few years and it was even better than before; I missed meeting the owner this time because he was out of town, but he’s a delightful man and a great chef, and I’ll be back very soon. Everything was great, even better than my last visit.

The hotel is absolutely stunning, and each visit makes me set aside a full day just to enjoy the property instead of exploring Goa; the rooms are incredibly spacious and thoughtfully designed, with ample luggage space, dual sinks, and privacy features; the food is exceptional, and the staff are consistently warm, attentive, and helpful, making it a highlight of my trip. Nothing is lacking—I love Sur La Mer and look forward to visiting every year; it’s the only place in Goa I recommend to my friends.

Breakfast arrives whenever you want, either al fresco or in your room, with a great variety that includes excellent home‑smoked bacon and ham—no set times like other hotels. The only downside is the chirping of birds very early in the morning, which is a pleasant irritant.
