The place felt authentic, but there was no water in the room and the toilet lacked soap. I also didn’t know how to properly eat the traditional breakfast and dinner.

This traditional spot blew me away; I arrived with low expectations but it turned out to be the best part of my trip to Japan. The dinner was delicious and filling, the breakfast was interesting, and I was especially impressed by how clean everything was. The onsen was excellent, the water felt special, and even with many guests I managed to enjoy the indoor and outdoor baths alone. The staff were very welcoming and helped and explained everything.
