“Beautiful house and gardens, but felt a bit spooky with no one on-site.”

The house looked beautiful inside and out, and the gardens were lovely in a quiet spot that would be great for walking. Nobody was on-site, and all the ground‑floor sash windows in the rooms and the sitting room were unlocked, so anyone could have entered at night. Even though there was a key safe for the front door, the back door was left open. In Room 6 the shampoo dispenser in the shower didn’t work, the extractor fan in the en‑suite was out, and only one bathroom mirror light functioned. In Room 5 I was told there were no cups or glasses.

Attention to detail was great, the location is beautiful, and it’s very accessible.

“Great location with lovely staff.”

The spot is gorgeous, and my room offered stunning views; the minibar selection was impressive. The only drawback was that the double bed had just one bedside lamp and the bathroom lacked any shelves.
