The hotel had a lovely homely cosy feel and warm friendly staff; the big family room was perfect for four, and breakfast was lovely too.

I loved the old‑world look and wished they’d lean more into it; staff were warm and friendly. We ate in the bar both nights, enjoyed it, and it was very reasonable. The room was beautiful and spacious, and the garden looked well kept. From the carpark the building could use a little TLC, and breakfast could be improved – the juice was concentrate, pancakes weren’t freshly made as the menu said, and I’d have liked local produce. In the room, the Maxwell House coffee should be removed and one window needs repairing.
