The building’s aesthetic is wonderful. Returning at night was uncomfortable and complicated because the hotel is in a closed complex, and some access roads are blocked.

Overall, the place is very good and great for anyone who appreciates a vintage, handcrafted 1980s‑style Decor; I liked this new version. The gentleman who greets you is very attentive at all times. Just two small things I noticed: the entrance to the location is a bit tricky it’s easy to get a little lost and the air conditioning has to be turned off when you leave the room, plus it doesn't cool very well while you're inside. But these are things that can be fixed; otherwise, everything was great!

La Hacienda Hotel Xcaret feels nothing like a typical Playa del Carmen resort; tucked beside Xenses in the jungle, arriving feels like a little discovery. The moment you pass the entrance you wonder, “Where am I?” because the hotel has an elusive charm – intimate, unique, almost secret, a tiny oasis with its own personality far removed from the massive Riviera Maya resorts. The team adds to the magic: Skip is one of the most delightful people we’ve met in the Mexican Caribbean – discreet, approachable, and somehow makes you feel at home without intruding. Nora ensures everything runs smoothly, while Santos keeps any glitches at bay. We stayed in the Los Arcos suite and it was simply enchanting. The real secret isn’t shown in the photos: the conversations. Talk to the staff, ask for tips, let them recommend hidden spots. They know the best corners and experiences worth seeking out. Some places you simply sleep in, others quietly become part of the journey, and La Hacienda is definitely one of those.
