“Lisez et faites-votre opinion.”
I know this neighborhood well and it’s great for the metro, restaurants, and shops just 2 minutes away. The booking system now works like Airbnb with key boxes, so you never meet the owners. I arrived at night, called the owner I expected to see but didn’t, and he was late. I had to take an external elevator in Block B with no signage—only one elevator was available—then climb stairs, and he thought I wanted the stairs. He finally explained I needed to find a black box for the keys, which was hard with a phone and luggage. There were five keys: one for the elevator, one for a landing, one for the main door, one for the room, and one for the room light. The owner took time to guide me, and an Italian woman also came to get explained. In the room, I closed the window, unsure if it had double glazing, and heard street noise, which was quieter than usual, except at 1 am when an awful noise—apparently the hot water tank in the bathroom—made it impossible to sleep, especially in a small bed stuck to the wall. I left the keys in the room as instructed, but the landing door to the elevator was locked and the keys were gone. I had to walk down seven floors with my luggage, but luckily at the sixth floor the landing door was open. I give two stars for the location and the owner’s patience. The photo shows a quieter two‑person room with no hot water tank, as I met a couple sleeping there. It’s a shame I had such a rough experience.
