The location was great, close to the train station, cafés, and antique shops; the bathroom was roomy, but the shower stall was small.

The staff were lovely and accommodating, the food was amazing, and the overall feel was warm, inviting, and nostalgic, unlike the typical cold old pub vibe some expect from a hotel; our family found it very family‑friendly, clean, comfortable, and welcoming, and we would recommend it and stay again. Our first night had rain and strong winds that rattled the window all night, and pigeons on the roof were a bit annoying, but that was a minor issue and didn’t deter us from booking again.
