The staff were incredibly kind, and the traditional ryokan garden‑view room was lovely. The setting was very peaceful, though a bit far from the city center—something we knew beforehand, and it was easy to reach by taxi or a long walk. Overall, the accommodation could use a bit of TLC, but that added to the charm of our stay.

I picked the garden‑view room, and there was an onsen and a separate shower for our three rooms. When I stayed alone one night, it was all mine. The rooms were fantastic and spacious, and there were restaurants nearby, even though it was off the typical Kanazawa path. Transit options were spotty; the bus stops were a distance away, and a cab to the station costs about 1500 Yen, which isn’t bad.

Japanese rooms were a highlight, but the hotel was too far from the center, the common areas carried a tobacco scent, and there was no separate shower.

The freedom of the stay was a plus, yet the bath emitted a faint sewage odor.
