The receptionists were very helpful and friendly, but all the beds in the dorm room were really close together, with no curtains, so no privacy at all. The restroom/shower was dirty, with multiple cockroaches at night, though the shower itself was nice and warm.

The spot is spot on—just a 7‑minute stroll from the main pier if you’re arriving by ferry, and there’s a bunch of food markets nearby. The hotel itself has a few chill zones, like a billiard table, ping‑pong, and several lounges, plus you can rent a scooter from the shops around. The downside is the noise; it’s loud all night and you can hear everyone around as if they’re in the same room, and there’s music playing in the building almost the whole time, which is pretty annoying. On the first night we stayed, none of the five of us had water—no shower, no toilet, no tap. We pinged the staff but got no reply. Still, Kho Pha Ngan is amazing, and if you want a central spot, this is it!
