The hosts were very caring, the setting was wild yet still easy to reach and comfortable. I highly recommend it.

Everything was perfect. The homemade breakfast (preserves, yogurt, brioche, etc.) was all made from scratch. The cottage sits in a hamlet in absolute quiet, and the hosts give excellent advice on local restaurants and walks. Trust them. The only issue was the distance information from Booking. I was looking for a cottage near Arvieux, and Booking listed this one as about fifteen kilometres away. Booking forgot that in the Alps a straight‑line distance can easily double when you have to navigate terrain. By the time I arrived, I realized I would need more than an hour to get from Arvieux (my hiking spot) to Les Eygliers. You might say “why didn’t you check before booking?” but I did. My GPS showed a Les Eygliers 15 km by road from Arvieux, so it seemed plausible. Arriving an hour later, I discovered there weren’t two, but three Les Eygliers within a few dozen kilometres. Booking, stop treating customers like idiots. People don’t travel by air in the Alps; they travel on wheels or on foot. If you can’t provide accurate ground distances, don’t mislead us.
